Job Description: President**

  • Lead the PTSA toward goals approved by the membership
  • Complete the Standards of Affiliation contract with WSPTA by the deadline
  • Follow the IM PTSA Standing Rules approved by the membership
  • Plan and preside over the Board of Directors meetings each month (3rd Wednesday)
  • Plan and Preside over the monthly membership meetings (4th Wednesday)
  • Co-sign all contracts/binding agreements
  • Attend monthly Issaquah PTSA Council meetings (2nd Thursday) or make sure another delegate attends for IM PTSA
  • Plan (provide agenda for) monthly meeting with principal (Monday before membership meeting)
  • Serves as ex-officio member of all committees except nominating committee
  • Answers or forwards emails sent to IssaquahMiddlePTSA.org mailbox
  • Provides leadership and assistance to board/committee chairs when needed
  • **Attend at least 1 training approved by WSPTA/Region 2/Council
  • **Attend PTA & the Law or make sure another elected officer attends

Job Description of VP of Volunteers (not a voted in position)

Liaison between event chairperson(s) and prospective volunteers in communicating their need(s) for volunteers on a regular basis. 

Need to be available to check email and access the database on a regular and sometimes timely basis.

Small amount of data-entry and editing of volunteer database in early September and periodically throughout the school year.  

Job Description for VP of Hospitality (not a voted in position)

Contact Committee Chairs and the Principal's Secretary at the beginning of the year and introduce yourself.
 
2-3 months prior to each event, contact the committee chairs and help them get planning and sign ups started. Provide them with budget info, the committee folder from the previous year and instruct them in using/setting up Volunteer Spot.  Check in with them a few days before and on the day of the event, ( be prepared to be on call for that day) follow through with them afterward,  thank them and complete the exit interview.
 
Periodically check in with Committee Chairs to see how planning is going.  Step in and provide assistance if necessary.
 
Attend board and general PTA meetings, reporting on past and future events, giving recognition to Committee Chairs and other volunteers.

Send bi-weekly blasts as well as one off blasts as needed

Create/write/compile articles for bi-weekly e-news

Work with webmaster to maintain relevant, accurate and updated website.

            Newsletter editor/publisher

            Back-to-school check in packets

            Directory

            VIS

            Language Liaison

Job Description:  Secretary**

            Attend monthly board of directors and bi-monthly general membership meetings     

            Maintain legal documents notebook

            Maintain secretary notebook and pass it along to incoming secretary

            Keep accurate minutes

            Provide the minutes (both draft and approved) to be posted on the PTSA website

            Record attendance and determine existence of quorum at all PTSA meetings

            Responsible for correspondence as designated by President

By June 30th of current school year, ensure that Legal Documents Notebook is in order and ready to transfer to the new officers.

Is responsible for securing location of each PTSA meeting (Eagle Room, Swedish Hospital etc.)  Not currently space for us to have more than one meeting a year on campus.
