Hello Issaquah Middle PTSA community,

Welcome to 2023!  Now in my second year as IMPTSA President, I am reminded of the saying “it takes a village.” It takes a village to support our community.  It takes a village to support our staff.  And, it really takes a village to support our students!  I am asking for your help, as a part of an amazing IMS community village, to support our students and show them through volunteerism and involvement that each student is VALUEDLOVED, and EMBRACED by the IMS community.

We are so fortunate to have a school staff and principal that are innovative and work tirelessly to educate and support each and every student daily, but their efforts are only part of the village.  Our students need the whole village to support them and provide the connection they need. This is where YOU come in!

We have been working with a small, but MIGHTY crew of volunteers over the past few years, but as restrictions have lifted, we are back with so many fun activities planned for our students and community in the coming months.  And, we need the whole village to help make those activities happen

How can you help?  Be on the lookout for volunteer opportunities for all of the amazing programs we have lined up in the coming months.  Supporting these activities can be as easy as dropping off a few dozen cookies or cases of water.  Or we need plenty of volunteers to help set up for programs, pass out ice cream to our amazing MVP students, walking around the lunchroom to help support staff, and more.  Below are just a few of the things we have lined up:

  • Lip Sync Battle (Students vs. Staff) hosted by IMPTSA and ASB on February 9.
  • 5th Grade Orientation (bring cookies & water for refreshments) for Feb 1 and 2.
  • Junior Honor Society reception (bring cookies & water for refreshments) for Feb 7.
  • “The Smart Talk” technology presentation for students and parents in March
  • Multi-Cultural Fair on April 27.
  • Pamper the Panther
  • Walkabout
  • 8thGrade Graduation
  • MVP
  • And more!

If you would like to help, please sign-up or send me an email at president@issaquahmiddleptsa.org.  Looking forward to all the ways we can come together as a village to support our community and students.

Sincerely,

Cortney E. Eldridge
